Having just set up a wired "subnet" for my 2 5040s, what I would like to do now is to stream reliably at high quality to my laptop wirelessly. The laptop has an integrated 802.11g wireless adaptor. I am assuming a good 802.11g access point connected via switch to my wired RTV network ought to do the trick. Has anyone successfully achieved what I am setting out to do? If so, what access point did you use?

You can do wireless streaming via 802.11G. You can get a Linksys WAP54G for about $110 that would work. Just plug it into the switch on your wired lan, give it an IP address and SSID (enable WEP if you are worried about security), configure the NIC in the laptop and you should be in good shape.

Good luck!
