99.9% sure it will be region free. Paramount has yet to region code any movie.

The DVD reviews are up. Has anyone got a look at the BD?

And is the movie any good?

The trailer looked really lame, but I heard good things about it.

I went in with low expectations since I also thought the trailers was crap.

What I got was one of the most cruel and gruesome horror movies in a long time

Lot´s of cutting in flesh and self-mutilations.

Almost felt like a Cannibal Holocaust movie at times because of it

Very dark movie. Not the usual PG-13 hollywood ******** that comes out these days.

I saw the R-rated version. And from the few clips I saw from the Unrated one it´s even more gruesome

Okey, it´s NOT a masterpiece, but this is going into my horror collection

I read the Scott Smith novel last summer (same guy who wrote A Simple Plan). A Simple Plan was turned into a first-rate movie with a suprisingly good cast by Sam Raimi, so I was hopeful heading into this movie that the same had been done here.

I was wrong. The end result wasn't "bad," it just wasn't the deep, brooding psychological page-turner that the novel was. The end result was sort of "meh."

The book (which I highly recommend and I think most people will like 99% of it save for the ending) is about human drama (same as A Simple Plan), where the real enemy is the human element. The movie, on the other hand, has an interesting but one dimensional villian, same as most horror movies.

Do I recommend it? Sure, I guess. It's okay, just not what it could have been if they'd thrown a better screenplay at it.

Day and date? The movie was released in March. "Day and date" means that on the same day the film is released in theaters there's a another form of release for home viewing - eg DVD, TV/cable broadcast.

Those d#%ks at IGN did it again.

"the grain that runs across the image is intensely more noticeable and equally annoying. The level of detail doesn't seem to increase and the saturated colors still fail to pop in a way that makes the experience all that dynamic or captivating."

I'm complaining to them about GONY.
