I've been reading rumors that the Sony HD100 is no longer being sold and that they will be coming out with another version of the unit. I bought mine a few weeks ago and I'm worried that I may get stuck with it...


Does anyone have any facts on this?

I always found the HD100 a very "fishy" box.


Ever tried to find it on www.sony.com? Good luck, because you can't.


I'm not bashing Sony (All my equipment is Sony), just saying that maybe the HD100 was really just a test platform for them, not an official release.

The Sony SAT-HD100 is pictured all over the latest Sony Style magazine. Sony's web site is generally out of date and weak.


I would say that all manufacturer's first set-top boxes become somewhat of a test. These are a new type of product offering and as RCA can probably attest from their DTC-100, there is much to learn on how consumers actually use them.
