Logic tells me this is a bad idea. But....

I have a panasonic XR55. The receiver has Bi amp capability so apparently it runs 200watts per channel in this mode. In actuality its not any louder but its suppost to help eliminate problems with "peaks" at high volume.

So, can I do it?

When you bi-amp the two channels are connected separately to the upper and lower terminals on the speakers and any bridge between them is removed. It can't be louder since that is defined by the amp and speaker sensitivities/gains. What are you running with it?

I might be wrong, but I think thats bi-wire not bi-amp. Primus 250's w/ 200watts RMS max

Ok basically, when you have the receiver in stereo mode it goes into "Dual Amp".

Supposively what happens is it uses 2 amps to power each chanel so a total of 4 amps to run stereo. However, you can still have it using both A and B output but still in "Dual Amp" mode. (its a 7.1 receiver)

What i'm guessing is that maybe I can get it to see the speakers at a lower load if the one set (2 speakers) is running on both the A and B speaker outputs.

So basically 1 wire to Positive on A. Other Wire to Negative on B
