Hi, I've got a RUNCO CinemaPro750 CRT projector. Once it works , it works fine, but getting it to work is tricky. I'll explain....

My video source is the TV tunner in my VCR

If i turn on the RUNCo with the Vid source on, the picture comes on the screen and after about 2 seconds dissapears, at this point no light comes from the CRT's......the little red power light remains lite.

If i turn the RUNCO off then on again the same thing happens.

If i turn off my vid source so that nothing is connected to the RUNCO and then turn it on, ill get "time" on the lower right hand side of the screen....this is normal.......if i leave it in this state for 20 minutes then turn on the vid source, a nice picture appears and stays. So obviously my RUNCO likes to be warmed up with no vid input......but it didnt used to be like this, it used to be, just switch it on and go. So does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? Whats broken? What part needs to be replaced? Im a electronics tech, but TV isnt my feild, but im very comfortable around electronics and taking messurements etc. So if anyone can help that would be great.

Regards

Very common problem. You need a new focus block. I've got stock.

Zenith misdesigned these blocks when they were new, and overheated over time, causing the set to shut down.

DO NOT keep using the set the way it is now. THere's a small chance that the block will fail completely, nuking all three tubes instantly.

A new block is $175.00 USD incl shipping. They're now hard to get, it took weeks for me to get the 6 in stock that I have.

Shoot me an email below, they're easy to install. The new block is redesigned, and will not fail again.

Thanks!

Well I too also have a RUNCO Cinemapro 750. However mine dosent have quite the same problem as the above mentioned one.

Mine turns on ok, but after about 30 minutes or so of watching TV the picture starts to flicker. If i power down the unit then turn it back on again, all is good for aprox. another 30 minutes till the picture starts to flicker again. Any ideas of where my problem lies?

Pull off the back cover of the set. AS you're looking at it floor mounted, the far right side should have a gray or black block with 6 controls on it. Three are labelled focus, three are labelled 'screen'.

If you see that, then you have the old focus block, and it should be changed right off the bat. THat's most likely causing your problem as well.

If you see a blank gray block, and those 6 ccontrols are on a separate block under the TOP cover, then you have a new style block that I have not ever had fail.

Let me know!
