Running audio apart from video

221 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Dunnie
Hey guys ... i have an opportunity to buy a nice McIntosh processor that is a generation old ... just before 4K.

My question is ... is there any issue running video directly from my source to my TV and audio through the preamp/processor as opposed to everything through the processor.

Thanks

D

If your bluray player has dual outputs it works.
It can give lipsynch issues but may not and often can be fixable.
Does it support dolby trueHD and DTS HD Master?

yes it supports DTS HD Master not sure about TrueHD ... suggestions for a nice 4k player now that oppo is out ? ... also ... when playing regular blue ray i can route video through the processor right ? just switch over when running 4k sources. also ... what about running the Tvs hdmi out to the processor ?
Panasonic UB820 or UB9000
just confirmed it has HDMI 3D Pass Through capability, as well as Dolby TrueHDA and DTS-HD Master Audio
