Hello. I recently noticed that the "Status Indicator" light on one of my Russound A-KP2 keypads is solid amber/red. When enabled, this status indicator normally is either off (to indicate that the feeding system is in the "off" state) or green (to indicate that the feeding system is in the "on" state.

The status indicator for this particular keypad remains solid amber/red whether the feeding system is on or off. And it also does not flash to indicate IR activity. The keypad performs normally otherwise. And all other keypads (10 of them) are behaving normally.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I reviewed Russound's user manual and there is no mention of the status indicator being amber/red. Thank you.

It sounds like the IR receiver in the keypad is picking up interference from something. Try shielding the little IR receiver window with your hand and then watch if the light goes out.

If it does, you'll need to track down the source of interference.

Common sources are Plasma & LCD tvs, flourescent lighting, etc.
