Ready to purchase a CAM 6.6 but im unsure as to what kind of speakers I should pair with the system. I am fairly savy with AV but I want to be sure that the system will sound as good as possible. Do you have any suggestions on specs. The CAM outputs 40 watts per zone. Two speakers recommended per zone with 6 zones.

AMPLIFIER - Frequency Response : 20 Hz ~ 20 KHz +/- 0.5 dB

Watts per channel : 20 Watts RMS x 12 into 8 ohms

Harmonic Distortion: 0.05% total

Signal/Noise Ratio : 88 dB

Audio Source Inputs: 6 (Including Internal Tuner)

Audio Zone Outputs : 6 Speaker Level - (2 Line Level)

Source Audio Input : 5V Peak to Peak, 10k ohms Max.

Zone Variable Line

Audio Output: 5.6V Peak to Peak, 4 ohms @ 1 KHz

Zone Fixed Line

Audio Output: 5.6V Peak to Peak, 4 ohms @ 1 KHz

Trigger Outputs : (1) Common, 12VDC 100mA each

Trigger Inputs : (1) Home Theater

Frequency Range : AM 530 ~ 1710 KHz

FM 87.7 ~ 107.9 MHz

THANK YOU for your help in advance!

I use monoprice 8" for mine and sounds good. As far as connecting more than 1 speaker per channel, you run into a problem with OHMs. When you connect 2 8 OHM speakers in parallel, the amplifier will send 4OHMs to power the speakers. Your warranty (if any) would be void if something happens but there have been people who have successfully done it.

From the Russound home page:

Quote:
Double your warranty

Install Russound speakers with Russound A-BUS components or Multiroom Controller Amplifiers and double your warranties.

This program includes Russound Acclaim®, Complement®, OutBack and Ratio® loudspeakers when combined with A-BUS components or CA4, CAS44, CAA66, CAM6.6, CAV6.6, MCA-C5, or the ACA-E5 Multiroom Controller Amplifiers

That would influence my decision for sure.

You are suppose to run no more than three zones on CAMS and CAV's at 4Ohms. I always stick with Russound speakers when i do russound installs for the reason posted above.

What is your budget for the speakers?
