I have an older Russound system. It's a PR-4Z with the 6 zone amp. I have 2 PR-4Z's cascaded to give me 8 zone's. Hence, my first question. Can someone recommend a cheap way to power the extra 2 zones?

Also, I'd like to buy a better keypad than the old pck keypads that I have now. Kinda like the UNO's but I didn't think those were compatible. I'd want something that could read meta data and show song info. Can someone recommend a keypad like this? or can I make the UNO's compatible?

Any four channel amp (or a pair of two channel amps) will work to power speakers in the additional two zones on your PR-4Zs.

You're stuck with the keypads as the Russound UNO keypads aren't compatible with the older system. To get metadata at the keypad, you'll need to either replace the entire system or you could add a something like Sonos as a source which could provide metadata to it's own remote. This may be a solution if you listen to primarily MP3's?

Thanks Paul,

That Sonos remote sounds pretty cool (I watched the demo on their web site) and it's not horribly expensive but I need to do this on the cheap. So far, I found I can winamp the music and control it via pc. I have a pc on all 3 floors of my house.

I also discovered I can get music to my Windows mobile device and even control my pc's via bluetooth through this device. Problem with bluetooth is the distance maxes out at about 20-30 feet.

I guess I'll keep searching. Seems like technology is running rampent these days....

Do you happen to know of any central website that has tips and tricks and tweaks for the Russound system? I've been on the Russound web site and even registered to get to their knowledge base but I thought you might know of other places.
