Okay- figured it out. It's not an app it uses the web browser.

But... the TCH1 will not connect to the CAV6.6. The little green light on it for RNET is off and the iPhone app displays but the button presses don't control the CAV6.6.

Anyone know if there is a setting in the CAV6.6 that activates the RS232 port on the back?

I grow weary of Russound...

Thanks.

I just installed one on the C series. If you read the directions you will see that the app really is just a web page. You need to go to 192.168.1.200 - the default site and then you can add a bookmark it on your home screen of your iphone. Good luck and I suggest getting the directions.

I don't know about the CAV but I can tell you that I have read there was a switch for front or back on those units (I thought). Maybe yours is on front which is typical to program from. I would also suggest calling Russound tech support. They are a bit gruff but know the answers.

This should be pretty straight forward if you are following the directions with the one gotcha being to check the RS232 port selector on the front of the CAV6.6 - It is set as a default as Front.

Only other thing to check for is to power the TCH1 down and reconnect the usb to serial adaptor - it needs to be plugged in 1st before powering up the unit...

Tech1 and Heffneil,

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes- it was something simple. The switch in the front was set to front RS232. Changing it and powering off/on everything did the trick. I now have control over the unit from a web browser on the iPhone.

However, new issue. The screen on the iPhone does not display the last line of the web page and their is no scroll bar. So... I can't control the volume or mute from it.

Any ideas?

Best and thanks.

Go to the page on the iPhone browser, click on the "+" button at bottom of page, save as "Add to home screen" option (not bookmark). Then go to where that Russound button is on your iphone screen, touch it and voila no browser bars on the page.

Yes, it just runs a web app. However, it doesn't work in Safari, only on the iPhone... not certain why.

It has an auto refresh capability that keeps the information current. Really works pretty well (once I got it working).

Best.
