Hello please help, Sorry, put this in the wrong section before.

I'm planning on getting the Yamaha RX-A1030 which has pre-out and zone-out rca's. I would like to use either of these outputs to drive a second (external) amp for a second set of main speakers but at the same time I want to use the Yamaha's main speakers in the same room (don't ask why) My question is: If I use the pre-outs, will the speakers on the Yamaha still work (mains and surround) or will they shut down?

If they do shut down with the pre-outs, will I be able to use the zone-out instead? I would guess so but is the zone-out variable like the pre-out's? I also read that the zone-out only sends out analog signals unlike the pre-outs. Does that mean that my blu ray player connected to the Yamaha won't work on the zone-outs? In short, is there a difference between pre-out and zone-out?

p.s. The external amp i'm using is analog (no digital inputs)

Thanks a lot!
