Hello, i recently plugged my dvd player into my above mentioned receiver and the audio works perfectly but i cant get video to work. I tried composite and component. Neither works. I plugged the dvd player directly into my tv and the video works fine. Any ideas greatly apprecieted. This is a new receiver (1 week old) and i am still struggling to get used to it. Thanks

How is the 365 connected to the TV? It likely has no conversion capability, so you may need the same video connection as the player has. Which likely means you need to make multiple video connections to the TV if you have multiple types of source connections, such as HDMI and component video.

In that case, I think you are assuming your receiver can convert your DVD player video to HDMI and it does not do so. Check your manual.

i had a look at it quite a few times, and apart from being confusing there is little to do with the video parts of the unit. For the most part it only rambles on about the audio parts. Will have another look and try running a second connection to the tv via composite.

thanks

I think you will need to run a second connection. I have not read the manual yet, but I saw no mention of HDMI conversion on Yamaha's web page for that receiver.

If you only have one composite video device, a direct connection to the TV might be simplest as you will be forced to change TV inputs in any case.
