Hello group! I'm new to HT and just purchased a Denon 2803. I have all the speakers and the DVD player hooked up and I can watch DVD's in progressive mode with 5.1 sound.


My problem is I don't get video from my DirecTV receiver. I have an S-Video cable from my DTV to the "TV" input on the 2803. I have an optical cable from my DTV to "Optical 2" on the 2803. I have an S-Video cable from the "Monitor out" on the 2803 to my TV. But when I choose the "TV" input on the 2803, I can hear sound coming from DTV but no video. I can see the on-screen display from the 2803 on my TV, so I'm confused. I've unplugged everything but the S-video from the DTV to the 2803 and the s-video from the 2803 to the TV and it still doesn't work. Is there something wrong with my new 2803?


PS: I know the DTV and it's s-video cable is good because I can unplug it from the 2803 and plug it into the TV and everything works.

it MIGHT be a bad TV-input on the receiver. try using another input, like VCR1 or VCR2 and see if it works.

Thanks, but I already tried that.

I did a "initialize microprocessor" and it started working right.
