I have a SA8000 receiver from Adelphia. As much as I love HD, Adelphia doesnt carry Fox, PBS or Discovery in HD here yet. If I was to get an antenna and input that into my SA8000, would it decode the local HD channels? Or am I basically looking at picking up a seperate HD receiver just to decode PBS and Fox?

No ... the SA8000 can't pick up OTA channels.

No, cable HD boxes only support their QAM format, OTA HD uses an imcompatible format 8VSB which is only supported by OTA HD STBs. You would need to buy a separate OTA HD STB plus an antenna to get OTA HD channels. The cheapest OTA HD STBs are used units on EBAY for around $100 or more.
