Does anyone have experience hooking up the SA8000HD to a Mitsubishi WD-xx725 or 525 TV . The only reason I'm asking is my LCD computer monitor came with a DVI cable and I'm wondering if it's worth a $30 DVI to HDMI adapter to try it out. I have comcast and believe the jack to be active.

I don't think the dvi port is active on that model.

DVI is not enabled on the SA8000HD in any Comcast service areas.

Maybe by late November....

Works in some TVs in Cox markets (where its enabled), doesn't work on any TVs in Comcast markets.

bfdtv,

I rejected the SA8000HD in a Comcast setup(Reston,VA) because it couldn't give me any output other than component. S-video and antenna were disabled when it booted up. I like to use s-video for digital channels and sometimes antennae for major network sports and I change from component to s-video frequently on the fly when switching programming.

Is it easy to change from component to 480i/p or component to s-video with this Comcast setup?

audiophile,

It takes maybe 30-40 seconds to change from component to s-video, but you've got to physically go up to the box.

Oh, why is that? You have Passport?

With my SARA box, I first use PIP then SWAP (for a SD channel) and select Input Video 1 with the TV's remote and get my S-Video instantly.

...but I've not been doing that anymore...I change Picture Format to 480i and get a PQ comparable to S-Video. My TV is great to interlace...better than 480p.
