So tomorrow I finally get an upgrade 8300. Had lots of issues on the 8000, but, anyways, is this cool multi room fundtion avalaible on alll 8300's , or is it just another non-active Time Warner box feature?

According to the following, you specifically need an "MR" version of the box for multi-room functionality:

Basically ... this equates to an extra piece of hardware in the box (QAM modulator).

TW is supposedly testing 8300MRs somewhere (?Minneapolis?) ... elsewhere I wouldn't expect it. When/If TW rolls the multi-room version to your area, I'm sure they will advertise (and charge) accordingly ...

I would at least call them and tell them that you are interested in it. If they get no demand for it, then there isn't any reason to rush it.

It will be interesting to see what (if any) impact the additional insertion loss, caused by the SA Passive Splitter Isolation Module, may have on the picture being rendered from DTVs.
