You need a player that can decode SACD and DVD-A. SACD is working on Hybrid discs that will play in both a CD player (some of them) and a SACD player. DVD-A comes on DVD's and will sometimes contain a 2-channel PCM, DTS or DD5.1 track so that you can still use them when your player doesn't support DVD-A. In order to get the full benefit, you need a compatible player and inputs on your receiver to accept 6 analog connections. There are a few universal players that do both DVD-A and SACD and even fewer that can pass the signal digitally.

Hope this helps.
