I have seperate 5.1 and 2CH analog outputs, if I hookup the 5.1 to my receiver and play a 2CH SACD disc....will this work or do I need 8 interconnects to hookup both the 5.1 and the 2CH?


I'm thinking the 2910 will output 2CH to the L&R of the 5.1 but not sure.

You don't need to connect the "standard stereo" and "6 channel"


Just connect the 6 channel


When playing ANYTHING else you can simply use the HDMI.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to clarify my findings which may help others as well.


When playing SACD's through the 2910, you need to use the multi-channel analog for 2ch listening and not the "line out" analog 2ch. Reason is while both will output audio, the 2ch line-out will be downmixed and only max at 48Khz, the LF & RF of the multi-channel analog outs will provide full 96Khz or higher.


When selecting audio options on the SACD or DVD-A menu, there should be 2ch/96Khz options or other 2ch selections.
