I'm surprised this comparison hasn't been drawn before, and reading the individual threads hasn't gotten me much closer to a decision.
Here's a synopsis of what I know:
Sharp 42D62U:
-42"
-6000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio
-Supposedly better with Standard Def.
-Hit or miss banding issue (call samsung for replacement)
-Full in-house production
Samsung 4061F:
-40"
-10000:1 DCR
-Not as hot for SD (supposedly)
-HDMI issues (firware fix?)
I'm a bit weary of the hard specs since I know each company has different ways of testing for these things.
So then, what's the scoop of which is better? I've never owned something from either of the companies, and consumer reviews are still just putting me on the fence.
Thanks
