Hi All!

I'd like to know if I can use the same subwoofer in 2 different zones. BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME.

I'll have a 5.1 system with a Marantz 7008 avr (9.2). I'll also have an old NAD receiver driving a 4 pair whole house system, using an impedance matching selector box.

The 5.1 system is relatively low end. But I got a great deal on some very high end ceiling speakers that are in the same room as the 5.1 system. (These are part of the whole house system.) They sound amazing! So, is there a way to use my sub for the 5.1 OR the 1 pair of ceiling speakers in that same room when I want to listen to 2.1 music? (Again, not at the same time.)

Thanks.

What sub do you have?

None. I'm hoping to narrow down the search after I know what kind of inputs/outputs I need.

Should I move this to the subwoofer forum?
Many subs have several inputs which basically sum together. Some older units have Left and Right speaker-level inputs, these are less common today. Less expensive modern subs have a single line level input.

Does the NAD receiver have a sub output, or just L/R speaker outs?
