I sometimes see very slight wavy lines on a sky blue or underwater blue background.I've adjusted gamma which helped.Any other service menu setting to help this ? This is a very minimal problem, otherwise a perfect picture Thanks
I ask about component input because switching from component to DVI or HDMI will usually help contouring.
I sometimes see the same thing with my DVI HTPC connection and with a HDMI cable connection. I see contouring a lot more on TV than from DVDs. "Finding Nemo" is a sure bet to produce a lot of them.
A good ISF calibration may make them harder to see. I've seen only one calibrated set (HLN507) and that was the case. I'll be getting my HLP5063 (or maybe a HLP5674) calibrated soon. I expect less contouring (banding) will be one of the benefits.
A do it your self SM calibration would probably not help contouring much.
