Sam's Club, Costco, etc

I posted about seeing the Daewoo 46" plasma at Sam's Club, but it is not listed on their web-page. Does anyone know if Costco or other retailers are similar in that they will have TVs in their stores that aren't listed on their web-pages?

Yes. Most of the B&M stores will often have different displays than what's on their website.
I know for Costco, this is the case. They have plasmas in the store, that they don't have on the web.
For what its worth I own a 46" Deawoo that I got from Sams Club.

Ive had it for a few months and I am beyond happy with it, the picture quality with SD, HD and DVD is stellar. I been thinking about getting a second plasma and have been looking at the 50" plasma's but to be honest I like the picture on my 46"ED better for SD and DVD than I do on the 50" HD's, and most of what I watch is SD and DVD.

I really really wish some one would make a 50" EDTV.

Anyhow, the 46" Deawoo is a great plasma, Im very happy with it !!!!!!!

You should definitely get that in writing!

Congrats on your new Plasma.
That's costco current policy which may change at any time.

I bought a 42" Panasonic plasma at Sams Club. On a subsequent visit I asked about their return policy on non-PC items (six months on PCs), and was told I could return purchases any time as long as I had the original receipt. I asked about a time limit and was told there was none. Their written policy is the same and does not mention a time limit.

BTW, when I asked if there was a re-stocking fee the lady said "what's that?"

What is going to happen for previous purchase if Costco change their policy tomorrow?

Sam's Club is now selling Dell PDPs on-line. I'm waiting for the day when I see a TH-50PX500U on the shelf (floor actually) of a Sam's Club or BJ's Wholesale... then I'll "pull the trigger" on my purchase... at that point I'll have confidence the "mark-up" will be minimal.

Xiaoyu,
I have no idea...I don't work there, but policies can change on the whim of management.
The fact that these stores have no formal written policy on returns means that it can change at any time.
Just to clear up, Costco is finally starting to lose enough money that their current return policy is being changed. This came from my local Costco GM, he wouldn't tell me what they were going to but look for the change real soon.
Hi,

There is a 6 months written return policy for computers at both Sam and Costco, but not for anything else. My prediction is the new policy for non-computer items have to carry longer return policy than 6 months. I am guessing that they have to give the same period time of return for previous purchase starting from the new policy announcing date.

I am pretty sure Sams Club has their written return policy on display behind the customer service desk. I will double check this weekend.

We are discussing here is the possibility of new policy for other items except computers, but just like the computers that they put 6 months restriction before.

Costco's doesnt sell any extended warranties, go to Sams and you'll see they sell extended warranties at least on there Tv's, if Sams had unlimited return time then why would they sell a warranty?

Possibly every store might have a different return policy.

I'm sure i would bring back mine in less that 2 yrs, as prices are going to drop by next xmas...costco's already have a pio hd plaz for just under 3 g's
The way I see it, Sams sells extended warranties because (a) they don't want you to return things if you can get them repaired, (b) they make money off the EW, (c) they don't carry a consistent line of products, so if you return a defective item they may not be able to replace it, so if you like the item a repair is the only option other than a full refund, and prices will not always be cheaper on a replacement. For example, Sams no longer carries the Panasonic plasma I bought from them, and I got such a great deal on that returned unit that even with prices coming down it will be at least a couple of years before I can get a replacement cheaper. And, as has been mentioned - they can always change their return policy, so the EW would then be a great benefit. BTW, their EW is by far the lowest priced I have seen, and it is transferable as well as refundable in part.
one other thing to keep in mind is that most warehouse retailers sell electronics that are a the year befores models that is why you don't find a lot of them on the man. websites because they have moved on to the newer models. If you want to see if it was a legit model sometimes you can look up manuals for older models on the man. website through customer support even if they don't list it in their main site. Just my $.02
