My brother is having a small problem with a Samsung kit: Samsung Le-40R89 (BD) 40" LCD and a Samsung P1200R home cinema kit (speakers, amplifier and DVD player). DVD player is hooked up to the TV using HDMI.
When playing PAL DVDs using HDMI the image is "jerky"; it stutters. When using composite or SCART (RGB) the image is perfect with no stutter.
If I change the output resolution of the DVD player (Samsung P1200R) to a different setting (720P, 1080i, 1080P) this stutter is normally removed. But as I switch the TV off, and back on again, the stutter continues.
Is this normal? My brother could simply use component, but if the TV is having problems with HDMI inputs there's always the thought of "What if..." when attaching a PS3 or a new HD-DVD player.
PS: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. I think the problem is LCD related, not DVD player related.
