I picked up a Samsung 40A530 from my local target this past weekend. Last night when I was calibrating it, I noticed that when I turn the brightness up I see lines going through the display. To me it LOOKS like 60 cycle hum. I did try to use a different outlet from a different room (long extension cord). No help.

My source is a PS3. And the calibration dvd I was using, was Get Gray's.

I have the PS3 plugged into HDMI 3 on the side of the TV. I don't THINK that should matter. I am going to try HDMI 2/DVI tonight.

I guess my real question is, is this really 60 cycle hum I am seeing? And is it a failure of the TV? Or do I have a power problem in my house?

I hate to do this, but if anyone has any idea it would be great.

As in if it is the display's fault and I need to return it, then I need to get it packed up and ready to go tomorrow.

I have tried ground lifts, plugging into a UPS, different outlet, different power cable, different hdmi cable, etc....
