Samsung 4671F Screen Flickering?!

3406 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  vigilante1
I notice a very faint flickering over the entire screen going horizontaly. So faint that most of the time I dont see it, but there is times I DO see it! I can only see it when theres no fast moving images on the screen. I notice it while playing xbox 360 via comp. and watching sd/hd tv via HDMI. I tried bypassing the ground plug on my 360. I also played with the AMP settings but not much else. I have a 2002 set.

Has anyone else noticed this? Got any fixes? Or is my set actually defective?

Your tv has the scrolling lines fault which is MASSIVE on european 71F sets(F86).There is an update for some european countries
I have a 4071f that has spells of flickering, but it's not really restricted to a horizontal streak. It's most of the screen, with the most noticeable flicker on the left side. I haven't called yet or taken it back, but am still considering. My fw is 1009.

I have a 69 series set and I'm experiencing a similar flickering/strobing problem. Its alot easier for me to pick it out on my Xbox 360 b/c of all the static screens. (i.e. blue Halo 3 matchmaking menus)

An easier way to pick it out in a busy screen (different colors, motion, etc.) is if you use the STILL button on your remote. Anything that's actually related to the source gets paused so that the flickering/strobing doesn't get hidden by any snow or grain originating from the source.

Anyhow, my local Samsung authorized service shop is sending a guy by to replace the mainboard and power supply. I'll let you guys know if that fixes anything.

He's referring to this thread over at AV Forums: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590827

It may or may not be the same issue we're experiencing. The above issue (based on the posted video on page 206 of the above thread) looks more like a single horizontal line that keeps scrolling down the screen. Versus the constant flickering (like the backlight is acting like a strobe light) that I'm seeing on my set. Then again, you and I might not even be experiencing the same issue. There seem to be many different ways of interpreting what you are actually describing when you say "flickering".

I am experiencing exact same problem (4669f).

no TBE and No stutter... but I do see strobing.

guess I will call samsung tomorrow.
why is the euro firmware fix not available over here, damnit?? My second set came with no stickers and a dead pixel too, should I exchange it again?
