I am looking to buy the 55d7000 while the d8000 is also available for an additional $500. I have done some research and found the only difference between the two was clear motion rate (which is not the native motion rate), both are 200 Hz but the 7000 has a CMR of 600 Hz and the 8000 has 800 Hz. Will it make any real difference on the 55 inch screen ? Will it be visible on the large 55 inch screen or not ? If not, then I would go ahead and buy the 7000 and save some $$$. I haven't been able to compare the two side by side.

I also think the 8000 has local dimming but don't quote me on that. In regards to the question you asked. The clear motion rate is completely irrelevant unless you like all of your TV shows and movies to look like a soap opera. It's possibly the worst feature I've ever seen on a TV and quite frankly, I have no idea why these manufacturers are including settings to make your picture look like this. The only time it comes in handy is when watching sports like Football and Hockey. Other than that. It's completely useless.

I am sorry I forgot to mention that I am referring to the UA55D7000 and UA55D8000, The Asian Version. There is a lot of variation among the UE, UN and UA versions.

Even in the UA versions, there are a couple of variations such as the UA55D7000LR


The tricky part is that the Malaysia and Thailand sites say 7000 has Micro Dimming:

The store I checked out also lists Micro Dimming in the features and Micro Dimming Plus for the 8000. I am still slightly confused ~ and I seriously doubt the "plus" in micro dimming plus.


I just want to make sure I do not miss the Micro Dimming Feature or anything other that is significant. The CMR, as you mentioned is not countable as a real feature. Also I dont care much about the touch remote, besides both the 7000 and 8000 have the same remote in the UA and UE version.
