model # SP61l2hx
i recently bought one of these, and to cut a long story short i watch a lot of horror and sci-fi movies and basically in the dark scenes the black is way too grey despite all my efforts with a "dvd essentials" disc and playing with the brightness contrast etc.
i rang the place i purchased it off and they said samsung have a special backdoor that enables you to tweak the black settings more with the contrast etc etc. has anyone heard of this or is this just going to be a limitation of this set?
normal bright scenes look great, but it really does make watching a dark horror movie/sci-fi in a room with the lights off pretty unworkable (and lets face it there lots of dark horror films
) and this is pretty much 95% of my dvd collection
plasma's problems (Dead pixels, etc) made me tend toward an lcd.
thanks for any info
