Hey All

Sorry if this has been covered but I could not find it.

I am going to get a DVI DVD player but not yet as there are only two available (Samsung and LG) in Canada and the LG wont work with Samsungs.

Since the TV has the Faroujda (Sp?) chip is there any advantage in getting a non-DVI progressive scan DVD player? I assume that the TV can do a better job then most DVDs in scalling the 480i signal into 720p??

So I guess I am asking is, should I keep my non-progressive scan DVD and wait a year for the whole DVI thing to work itself out, or buy a progressive scan DVD player to replace my 480i player?

Thanks

Mike

I have a Samsung HD931 hooked to my HLM437W via DVI, and the improvement over component is staggering!

If you have to go without DVI, don't bother with progressive.

For the reasons you state, many people with progressive players actually find the picture better on non-progressive mode.

Wait.
