I got to see what I assume is the default remote control for the HLN series at Best Buy this weekend. I have a HLM with HLN internals, but when I did the swap I kept the old remote because I didn't know I would be getting the new internals (in fact I was told I would not be).
I was wondering what the differences in the remotes was, and what possible control I was missing.
Turns out that the replaced the "Caption" toggle with a "DNIe" toggle. I for one would much rather have a caption toggle, especially with the great side-by-side PIP in this set. I'm glad I kept my original remote.
*However, if anybody has a Harmony remote with a HLN, please learn the DNIe code so it will show up in the database. I'd like to have both Caption and DNIe controls if possible. I'm sure you can probably get the Caption code you would otherwise be missing as well.
EDIT: forgot to mention there is no indication the new remote sends out any discrete codes.
