Does anyone know why my 5065 would start making a "trill" musical sound when I power it on or off?


It didn't do this when I first got it.


I'd like to get rid of it since it wakes people up when the tv is turned off late at night.

You can turn it off. It's in the menu under "Set up" "Melody."

I have mutilple Samsung HDTV's and they all make that sound. Ascending scale for on, descending scale for off. It's funny to me, but I like it because you know your TV is definitely ON.
