The FP-T5x94 is wireless and newer, yet Amazon has it at roughly the same price as the A550 for the 58" screen. I can't compare them live around here. It seems like the Tx94 is the obvious choice but I want to make sure the picture quality is the same or better than on the 550. I'm actually really confused as to why the price is the same. I cannot find any real reviews of the Tx94 for comparison to the 550. Any insights appreciated!

dont waste your time with wireless junk unless it is an absolute must. A wired connection will always be smoother and crisper then wireless. But if you got coin to spend, might consider looking at the new pioneer 5020 or 6020...

The 58" T5894 is about $2500 on Amazon; the Kuro 60" is $4000.


Anyone have a second opinion on this? Has anyone seen the two Samsungs for comparison?

Unless you need a wireless connection stick with the 550. It's PQ will better in some respects than the overrated overpriced kuro and less expensive than both kuro and the Sammy 94 series plasmas.

I have a Sammy and I NEVER regretted my purchase!

Actually the 550 is newer. 94 series is the top of the line set (but definitely a niche product due to the wireless box) held over from last year. Performance between the two will be similar, however unless you have a specific need for wireless I would get the tried and true wired 550. You cannot game on the 94 series at all as there is a lag, and you could run into interference or signal drops.

Wow, I'm really glad you mentioned the gaming thing. That's a major reason for the purchase and it never occurred to me.
