This HDTV capable, is showing red lines across that curve down across the screen. Can somebody tell me what's wrong? Is this fixable? if yes, how much and is it worthy it?

how did you fix it?

One of your convergence ICs is probably bad. The number on the IC should be something like STK32-040. It'll be attached to a large heat sink on one of the circuit boards.
