Samsung HL-T5087S Having issues with Contrast and Color

918 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  vahdyx
So my Samsung TV is having issues with contrast and color.

The Blues (during certain scenes) will turn greenish blue and greens turn to a bluish green

Not only that when the screen is all the way black and I turn it up and down the volume, the volume indicator turns light blue. As if the contrast went all the way down and the brightness went way up.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the grey scale tracking is off. If this is something that wasn't happening before, but, now it is...what changed?

If you have been adjusting things like Gain & offset adjustments for the R,G, & B, then thats where this problem originated.

I have no idea what you are asking. All I know is I adjust the image settings all the time. Dynamic, to Standard, brightness, Dynamic Contrast levels, black levels, contrast, sharpness, cool color, normal color etc.

If that's the cause for the problem then I slap my hand! I didn't know that could cause issues.

Did this problem just start out of the clear blue, or about the time you were in the service menu ?

(see your earlier post).

You could consult an ISF calibration specialist, they can help.

Oh, I've never even seen the service menu. I don't know if I'm confident enough to be in there.

However, a Samsung TV warranty guy was in there and about a month before that I've noticed the problem

*Edit* Oh and that forum post was for my old CRT HDTV, LG something or other. I messed that up and sold that TV, this TV however, I'll not go inside the service menu. I don't want to mess this TV up.
