I have a Samsung HLN437W. i bought it from a friend after it stopped working. when i bought it the color wheel would make a very loud buzz, so i figured i'd replace it and it'd be good. before the new one came, the old one stopped working all together. whatever, hooked the new one up anyway, and it's not powering up at all. if i look through the lamp it just sits there. i spliced the two wires on the back for the switch, so i could see it, but no go. i checked for any loose wires, and the ribbon cable is in right. can anybody help?

also, when the old one was still powering up, i turned the tv on using mute182power to see if i could see a menu or anything, and that may be when the color wheel stopped powering up.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

I don't if you have checked out the site at the link, but it has detailed instructions for replacing the color wheel in HLN Sammys. If you miss one step or misplace any wires or plugs, etc., it won't start up. So review the instructions as I think your problem is some missed connection.

yeah thats the site i used. and i went over it like 4 times now. like i said, it stopped while the old color wheel was still in there. one time it would come on with the tv, the next time it wouldn't. the blue/white/white wires on the color wheel side look like they overheated. the were all black/brown by the connector. and the connector crumbled to bits.

thanks tho
