Sorry if this has been covered, but I just don't have any more time to continue reading (I spent the last hour looking).

I just bought an hlr6167w 61" tv hoping it would just need a bulb. I replaced the bulb (all three lights in the button flashed and it wouldn't come on). Now I read about it possibly being the light engine... I was wondering if it could be the ballast. When I hit power, there is a click from the right side of the TV (If you are facing the screen). I get oscillating power to the ballast (125..0..125..0...). I don't know if that is normal or not. There is no power at the output of the ballast (where the bulb wires slide in). Also, can a gritty color wheel bearings make it not power on at all? When I spin the color wheel by hand it sounds like the bearing is bad. I will replace the color wheel if I figure out what is wrong with the tv.

I just don't want to waste any more money if it is the light engine because I am not willing to pay $900 to get this tv working.

Thanks for any help. If you want to help, but don't want to type out a whole response, I can PM you my phone number. I am able to test just about anything, but I don't know what is "normal". Or if anyone has a service manual in PDF or online, I would appreciate it.

BTW, if anyone can recommend a good place to buy parts for this tv, the only place I could find a color wheel is the one on eBay. I found a set selling rebuilt ballasts. If I get a ballast, is rebuilt ok?

Thanks,

David
