Like a few of the other posters here my set developed a single white "block" on the screen. Now after about ten days I have over 25. research says replace DMD.

I'm handy with things electronic but has any one been down this trail "hands on". Have a source for the chip out of Atlanta new around $200.

Set was built Oct 2006,has been "babied" and in one spot with great ventilation and care. Bulb life is currently at 2711 hours and going strong...........its just these damn spots.

Any and all input is appreciated....and no didn't buy extended warranty as just paid 899 on a circuit city special around Christmas 2006. Figure Ive gotten my moneys worth for 33 cents an hour. 'll fix on go on. Love the DLPs for colors and clarity, besides.....there seem to be LCD and plasma with various probs as well.

Yes I have exact same problem on an HL-S4666w and the dots are multiplying by the rate of 1 to 2 a day. Called Samsung and they pretended like they hadn't heard of the problem and since TV out of warranty nothing they can do. Sounds like someone needs to start a class action. I have been reading that it might be the light engine which is hundreds of dollars so $200.00 sounds better. At its current pace the TV will be unwatchable within a week or two. Don't buy a Samsung DLP without an extended warranty. I had 2 years warranty but TV went out in 2.2 years. Once again I'm on the bleeding edge of technology! No more Samsungs for me.

OR, don't buy a Samsung again at all.

HL-S4676S bought just over 2 years ago and yesterday I got my first stuck pixel.

A Brilliant white dot on the left 1/3 of the screen.

It's big enough I wouldn't call it a single pixel and very VERY bright so it really stands out and distracts from the picture.

I'll call Samsung tomorrow but I'm not goint to put close to $1,000 in this set and I'm NOT going to buy another Sammy.

write letters to them at address below...I'm mailing mine with a photo on Monday. I had a TV repair guy do a quote and its either $465 or $700 for entire light engine replacement. He tried to tell me only a small percentage of these TV's are having this problem but I think he was blowing smoke...Hopefully a class action attorney bought one of these units.
