The "S" series is over a year old now - you'd be buying the previous gen panel. Any reason you haven't included the 4665? Your in a basement without windows so the screen shouldn't be an issue. It was about the highest rated Samsung before the 71/81 seris that just arrived - both of which are better IMO but your budget may not go there. Sony "S3000" is also an excellent budget panel and ten bit.
I just noticed that the Samsung LN-T4642H on Amazon has five owner reviews and all gave it five stars which is unusual. GooD Luck!
