Samsung LN-S3251D Blur Issue

925 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  juanmartinez
Hi, I've recently discovered an issue regarding the motion-blur on my Samsung LN-S3251D. The problem is that anytime the color black is on screen and the picture is moving it seems to blur substantially more than the other colors. I can often see it making a sort of trail effect. Mind you, this proves to be extremely annoying in video games.

I noticed this especially in Oblivion for the 360 when I ran up against a wall and the black spots on it would move up and down as my characters head slightly bobbed.

Another weird thing I noticed was on the VGA input. Some solid colors, like in the Forza 2 logo I have on my 360 Dashboard, would be divided into vertical bands.

I'm wondering if this is normal for this set, or If I should call Circuit City support and hopefully get someone out here to look at it and issue a replacement. I'm thinking since they no longer sell the LN-S3251D at Circuit City that I'd pay the extra money to pick up the new LN-T3253H.

Thanks in advance.

Does this only happen while playing Xbox360 or does it happen while watching TV/DVD?

If it happens in other sources as well I would swap the TV.

Try unplugging the TV and XBox and reconnecting the cables Also try using a different outlet that is not on the same circuit, just to rule out some power related issue. Hope this helps.

It happens on all sources and on different circuits. I'm going to give Circuit City a call tomorrow.
I have this model in my bedroom and I have never noticed this type of blur on cable TV/DVD pictures. Are you sure that it isn't just the Xbox360 causing this and that deep down inside you are looking to trade up to the LN-T series?

Nah, it does it on TV and PS3 as well. I'm actually thinking of getting something besides the LN-T because of the HDMI drop out issues.
Well, I called Circuit City and someone's going to come out. Hopefully I'll be able to get a replacement because I've been looking at the Sharp LC32D62U.
Alright, the guy came over today. He upgraded the firmware up to the May 2007 and it still didn't fix the problem. So, he ordered a cable that goes inside the TV to try and fix it. This thing won't be here for a week and a half. If it actually fixes the problem, I'll be happy.

I'm still thinking this is a non-repairable defect, but we'll see what happens.
