Samsung LN46A750 grey swirls on dark screen

The TV is just over 4 years old. I have been quite satisfied until recently. I attempted to use search on this issue but apparently could not define it well enough, so forgive me if it has been addressed.


On dark screens grey or light colored swirls appear in certain areas of the screen. On a white or brightly colored solid background no defect appears. I would think it is screen burn in, but it is not visible all the time and the shapes do not look like anything in particular. I do not recall any time when a static image was displayed for a long period.


I only clean the screen with a microfiber cloth and use a very light touch, although it is possible someone else in the family cleaned it using more pressure. It definitely is not on the surface of the LCD. It is internal.


Any help would be appreciated.
