Like many others on this forum I am trying to use the DLNA feature of my samsung ln52a750 without having to run wires throughout my house. I don't want to purchase a wireless adapter for the TV, so here is the setup I'm going with.
1. Connect TV directly to a laptop using crossover cable and installed PC Share manager (latest version)
2. Set the laptop's IP address to 192.168.1.1 (255.255.255.0)
3. Set TV network config as follows:
IP Address: 192.168.1.2 (255.255.255.0)
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1
In effect, I am setting up a small LAN between my TV and my laptop. When I run the network test on the TV, it passes every check except the last one which is the Domain Ping check. I opened Ethereal on my laptop and found that the TV tries to perform a DNS query for ns11.where??.co.kr and ns11.where??.net (I forgot the exact domain).
Has anyone experienced the same issue and have a solution? Thanks.
