I've got a friend who can get great deals on Samsungs, and Samsungs only. He's looking to buy a new display and came to me for advice. I've seen their DLP's and think they're at the top of the heap for that technology, but he's excited by the look of plasma.


How are their plasmas? I've done a few searches here and have found next to nothing. My fear is that this means they're not well recieved and are near the bottom of the market.


Hope somebody can shed some light on the performance of the Samsung plasmas.

Doug, I am also looking for information on Samsung plasmas, specifically the SP-P4251. I went in my local Tweeter today to compare the Panasonic TH-42PD25U/P and the Samsung HL-P4663 (a DLP model). After spending about 30 minutes watching those two I wandered down the aisle and was blown away by the Samsung SP-P4251. It looked so much better than the other two tv's I had been watching! It seemed to show a lot more detail. In fact, it seemed better than many of the HD plasmas on display.


Since I got home I have been searching this forum and the web for more information on this model but have basically come up empty.


Does anyone out there have one of these?
