I'm panning on buying a TV during the summer and I have narrowed it down to two models. They both have the same price tag. Which one would you say is the better choice?

Samsung PN51D6500 or Samsung UN46D6400?

I bought the 59' plasma and I am totally happy with my purchase. The big deciding factor for me was that I am a gamer. And after a lot of research it became clear that the plasma is much better for games. The are several reports of the LED having slight lag with games (MLB 11 is one that has been reported several times by people).

Also, the fact that I can get more TV for the same price also was a factor. I think that LED is nice but that it still has some improvements it needs to make. The other big factor was viewing angle which the plasma also is superior at. Not everyone will be looking at my TV from the direct angle, so that again pointed to the plasma.

Good luck and I hope this was able to help.

I would get the plasma

Care to explain why ?

I'm 95% ready to jump on the PN51D6500/6900 but the only thing that's holding me back it the reflection of the screen when watching TV at day.

The 6500 has a quality glare filter and is bright for a plasma, so it should be fine. Ofcourse it will look better at night though.

I have a couple windows behind my sam plasma and the filter does a great job with the glare. If you were getting the d550 it would be bad with glare.

Buying the plasma over led you will get better viewing angles, less input lag, and more accurate colors.
