So here's my happy-ish dilemma: I have a Samsung PN58B540 with a panel failure. I bought it at Costso (Canada) a couple of years ago and after much back and forth with the people at Costco's "Concierge" service (their extended warranty), they've decided to replace my tv with a new one. They've given me a choice between a Samsung PN59D530 or an LG 60PA6500. I really liked my PN58B540-save for the annoying high pitch whine and slight issues with IR, it was a great looking panel.

Considering the two options they've given me, I'm not sure which way to go. I can't find many reviews of either and looking at them in store, neither looks great in those lighting conditions. The LG looks to be more feature rich and higher in their lineup, whereas the Sammy is entry level. I've also heard that in general, LGs are inferior to Samsungs in terms of blacks and IR. What I've read so far seems to suggest that LG may have improved somewhat with their latest offerings.

What say you, AVS? Advice? Opinions?
