I got an SIR-t150 and have not been able to get a signal at all. With closer inspections, I realize that it only accepts a "HD RF" signal. What in the world is this signal and how do I get it?
You've got an over-the-air decoder. You need an antenna, perferably a Zenith Silver Sensor and an HDTV. You will also need a signal. Your box decodes nothing but over the air digital signals broadcast by your friendly neighborhood stations.
I got an antenna. It was one of those terks that look like the silver sensor. It picks up a picture through my local NTSC broadcast, but my tuner does not indicate that there is any signal what so ever (no matter which direction I point it). I am not stupid when it comes to home theater, but I am at a stump.
It should be interesting to note that Samsungs website says that the t150 does not pick up over the air broadcasts only HD RF. I am not sure what they mean here, but nothing seems to be working.
That means it only receives the digital/HD stations, not the old analog ones. Check at www.antennaweb.org with your zipcode to see what digital TV stations you have in your local area. You have to aim that antenna precisely in the direction of each digital channel.
You also have to go into the Menu and use the "Scan " for Channels Selection. Make sure the antenna is pointed in the direction of the towers first before running the Scan !
