Does anyone with one of the newer Samsung Smart TV's use an external harddrive to play movies from?


If so, I would like to know which harddrive model you've had success with, since harddrive compatibility seems to be hit-or-miss.

Don't know what specific models you are talking about but i have last years model (PN58C8000) and have used both a seagate 500 GB portable drive and a WD 2 TB external drive with no issues. Played all the files i threw at it (avi, mkv, mp4, etc). Only iproblem was an inability to select subtitles.
