samsung soundbar hwq6cr remote not working

Just purchased this at Costco yesterday. Set it up and it sounded great. Today the remote will not work. Put new batteries in it nothing. Yesterday my direct tv remote would control the volume but today not. The power button and volume buttons on the soundbar work. I have unplugged it and plugged back in. The remote will work for short time but then stop working. Any suggestions before I take it back.
