I can't recommend a Denon factory refurb.
I bought a 4520 and it never worked right, even after sending it to Denon for repair.
Never again will I buy a refurb.

Amazon has its own brand apparently.
It's called "AmazonBasic."
They have both models of HDMI cables.

The prices are incredibly low (as they should be).
I paid 18 bucks for a 2-pack of 3 footers and a 2-pack of 6 footers of what they call "Latest Standard."
The specs claim: Meets HDMI 2.0 standards (4K Video at 60 Hz, 2160p, 48 bit/px color depth) that supports bandwidth up to 18Gbps and backwards compatible with earlier versions

Thanx for that.
I looked at the Amazon Basic cables but when I saw the Aurum cables on Amazon for less, I tried those first. And then I bought several dozen of them after I knew they worked in my setup.

I have a Samsung 65JS8500 on order with Best Buy, I'm thinking I should probably go ahead and order the UBD-K8500 since it has dual HDMI outputs. Unfortunately I have a Denon AVR which is not HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2 but I'm hoping I will still be able to send just audio from the second HDMI output from the K8500 to get the Dolby Atmos from a UHD blu-ray disc. Since the preorder price of the K8500 is only $399 I may go for it.

Only $399? Still sounds like a lot of money. For the avg. consumer they'll have to half that price from assorted manufacturers come black Friday. Otherwise it'll remain a niche product for quite some time and they won't make any money on it. Regardless of any television ads, people just won't buy into it.

Yes, this is why there's a dual HDMI. The audio HDMI out will go to your Denon and the other directly to your TV.

I love the fact that this has a separate HDMI output for Audio. I have an older receiver (Yamaha RV-471) that doesn't support 4K passthrough so this is a great solution for me.

Does anyone know if the K8500 will have media player capabilities? I would like to be able to stream 4K mkv/mp4 from a shared/NAS drive on my LAN. I couldn't find any talk of this capability from the research I've done.

I see that some brave souls are ordering a Samsung player from the U.S.

I didn't do this because I believe that due to the fact that these are laser class devices (and will have to be declared as such by the exporter) they are likely to be confiscated at customs, as they won't have a laser certification for the destination country. Not sure about Australia, but likely the case for the EU and possibly the UK.

I suspect this is why Amazon doesn't allow a UK/EU customer to order one, and why B&H doesn't allow you to pay for the tax/duty upfront, which they usually do, but of course I might be wrong (in fact I hope I'm wrong for those who are expecting an order).

So please let us know if they do get through, and also how much taxes/duty is added to the cost of ordering. VAT should be 20% on top (for the UK), and duty I'm not sure.

Better hurry only 4 left in stock. Seriously though how can there be such price differences between these cables, it's hard to believe that a $1000.00 Hdmi cable doesn't offer at least a modicum of improvement over onethat cost $6.99
Because it is a DIGITAL connection...it's either ON or OFF.
Either the signal is received completely or there is nothing.

Went ahead and preordered the K8500 from my local Magnolia Design Center. Also preordered Kingsman: The Secret Service UHD from Fox Connect.

Frankly - if you have 4K media files - you are better off getting a Mac Mini (MGEN2LL/A) for $650 - it will be much faster and you get a bonus Mac box. You can use a Flirc USB and operate using a Harmony Remote. I am making the assumption that you have a source for future 4K media files. I know folks who don't own blu-ray players because they have a source for 1080p files. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion; Primarily, I want the K8500 forthe UHD Bluray disk playing capability. In the near future I plan on buying a4K camcorder then store/archive the videos to a hard drive. Knowing that I canstream those video using the K8500, I think I’m sold.

Slightly off topic; I noticed in your signature youreferenced a FireTV2. I originally planned on using my FireTV2 w/ Kodi tostream 4K videos stored on my LAN, but that combination doesn’t fully work yet.I tried playing some 4K movie trailers and all I get is the audio. It seemslike there are some issues/restrictions with the FireOs and Android not able toswitch to appropriate resolution(s). I still plan on getting the K8500; Anyonehave any success playing local 4K media file via a FireTV2 w/ Kodi?
