Ok, Sorry if this was asked before in the forums but I searched through forums and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I am going nuts over the Samsung UN55C7000 SPDIF output issue.

Here is my setup. I have

1. Onkyo TX-NR509 -->Sammy 55 3D TV(HDMI & Optical cables)

2. PS3 (HDMI) -->Onkyo TX-NR 509

3. Dish HD Receiver (HDMI) --> Onkyo TX-NR509

Now when I play Netflix or HBO Go or Amazon Instant videos on my Samsung TV, I suppose to get Digital Dolby output back to the Onkyo Receiver. But when I check the sound settings, I see that the SPDIF output is set to PCM and I can't select to Digital Dolby. Somehow I feel like I am getting the HD Sound.

I know that the Netflix & HBO Go movies are in HD 5.1 surround sound.

If I play Vudu app on the Samsung TV, I do see "Digital Dolby" in the SPDIF output. I do hear proper 5.1 surround sound.

Also, I have some AVI files on my local media server that is HD 5.1 but that also shows SPDIF output as PCM and not Digital Dolby.

What am I doing wrong? Its driving me crazy
