It's almost certain destined for US as it's available for Pre-Order in UK at 9999 pounds. These often are significant higher because they always seem to come w/5 yr warranties and they have added taxes or fee's we often don't. I've seen it estimated at $12K MSRP or Samsung UPP but I'd bet than will street at $9K-$10K. They list it as a March release.Anyone have any information on this set or its 88" companion? Release dates, price?
Thanks

Hope you are right about the $9K. Using the price ratio for the 65" vs 78" Hu9000's the price is $10 to $10.5K at release.Craigslist in CA. They mention both 78JS9100 and 78JS9500, but there's an asterisk* on JS9500.
A best buy guy said 78JS9500 is coming, but Samsung told him they haven't decided on price yet, but thought it would be ~$9000. If its 12 like some places in Europe, count me out, it its 9, I might bite, and get OLED on next TV refresh. Hopefully a "Super" large Samsung OLED at thatLINK
unknowuser200 said the 78JS9100 was really just a JS9000 in a 78 inch package. The JS9500 has FALD. But at those prices and release dates Sony's 75" 940c looks a lot more attractive. The preorder retail for the 65JS9500 is $7200 but the 78JS9100 is $13000 so won't the 78JS9500 be more like $15000 assuming it has better features than the 78JS9100? Although it is not clear to me yet what the differences would be?
If the leaked price for the 940C at $8K is correct that will put a lot of pressure on Samsung to have a price of around $9k for the 78" JS9500. Curved + 3" versus 75" with ears.unknowuser200 said the 78JS9100 was really just a JS9000 in a 78 inch package. The JS9500 has FALD. prices are always high at launch to take advantage of the people waiting in the wings to jump on the new tvs. give it a few months and they'll all drop in price.IMO Samsung's new line is overpriced $1-2K. I like the Sony's picture quality but those silly side speakers have to go. Anyone that buys a $8K TV has a real audio system.
An important note for all forum users: Samsung JS9590 will criticize based on photographs very light, which quite simply because of the fact that the image technique used is not particularly well with harmonizes long exposures of cameras (keyword halo effects through local dimming) - here have OLED and Plasma TVs in the lead. All that really interested in Samsung SUHD television, so should not be too hasty to judge on the basis of photographs, but watch the TV with my own eyes. That Samsung in all three areas of the image (sharpness, color, contrast / brightness) improvements compared to the can achieve the previous year, clearly shows that it is all about technology and content when SUHD topic. Whether the JS9590 will go down as the best LED LCD TV of all time, or as a temporary solution for a completely new imaging technology in the history books, we can only speculate about.
Tips for Plasma Fans: Activate the HDR conversion of JS9590 and reduce the backlight control to level 5-8, then you should remain open no wishes in the dark room.
Some minuses (LCD after all)Relatively uniform illumination, no disturbing discoloration visible
Excellent coloration in dark and bright areas
HDR conversion, local dimming and expanded color space very convincing
Suitable with HDR conversion and reduced backlight controller for plasma Fans
Extremely limited viewing angles compared to OLED or Plasma
Without local dimming visible clouding
With local dimming halo effects may occur
Default of "normal" color space somewhat less precise than in previous years
I would guess at 11-12K MSRP. 78" is a big set...... No one has made a set larger than 65" in FALD, for mass quantity production. The key word is mass.Definitely coming to the US market. Probably around May/June. South Korean pricing is currently around $11-12K. I would guess an MSRP of $9995 with $1000 off on day one. So street around $8-9K
Oh I thought the Sony 950B was FALD, even in 79" form.I would guess at 11-12K MSRP. 78" is a big set...... No one has made a set larger than 65" in FALD, for mass quantity production. The key word is mass.
The 900b is 79 inches that is edge lit, the x950b comes in 65 or 85, the fald 85 inch is a special order, the 78 inch 9500 will be mass produced and actually in Stock in some places.Oh I thought the Sony 950B was FALD, even in 79" form.
SO basically for best LCD picture quality it looks like it will be the S9500 vs Sony 940C eh? for 75-78 inch range 2015.
The 88 is now being advertised for $29,000 in Canada. Still no sign of a 78 inch model as yet. Samsung Customer Service know nothing as usual. The 900b is 79 inches that is edge lit, the x950b comes in 65 or 85, the fald 85 inch is a special order, the 78 inch 9500 will be mass produced and actually in Stock in some places.
