Anybody that watched the Oscars last nite probably saw their commercial about 4 or 5 times. It was the one with the manta ray coming out of the TV (along with other fish). Beyond lame is the only way I could describe it. If this is the kind of marketing that TV companies are going to use to get awareness up about the availability of "true" 3D tv's, then the 3D is doomed from the start. Certainly, marketing 3D is going to be very difficult. Even more difficult then when TV manufacturers had to market High Definition in the early years. The tv companies couldn't show a HD picture on a SD broadcast to somebody with a regular TV, so they had to give a "simulated" picture to try to explain the clarity improvement. 3D is going to be even more difficult. You can't show anybody what the 3D is going to actually look like. I really don't know how these CE companies are going to effectively market this...
